The sculpture ‘সংশপ্তক – Shangshaptak’ (meaning The Loyal Soldier) is an iconic delineation of the Bangladesh War of Liberation by Hamiduzzaman Khan. Located in front of the library building at Jahangirnagar University campus, the sculpture represents the spirit of the war. It depicts a dauntless free fighter with one hand and leg severed. His persona is characterized by ardour, obstreperous speed and a fervid disregard for temporal and spatial restriction. The sculpture incorporates geometric forms, accentuating the desire to move towards the future. The predominant geometric lines give the sculpture a modernist aura.

Hamiduzzaman Khan created the framework with brass sheet, followed by the sculptural form with bronze. It is placed on a base made with traditional red brick.
