Freedom Fighter

Considered as one of the finest instances of modernist sculptures in Bangladesh, ‘Freedom’ incorporates abstract form and geometric shapes. It was made in commemoration of Bangladesh War of Liberation. The sculpture is placed in the north-eastern corner of Delvista tower in Gulshan, Dhaka.

Made with bronze, the sculpture ‘হামলা – Hamlaa’ (meaning Attack) is located at the Jalalabad Cantonment, Sylhet. The sculpture weighs 920 kilograms and has a height of 33 feet. The sculpture commemorates the spirit of triumph in the Bangladesh War of Liberation. As like other sculptures on the theme Freedom, it symbolizes the yearning of humans for freedom and spirited joy that comes along with emancipation from the shackles of tyranny.
