Galleri Kaya, on the occasion of its 11th anniversary, organised a group art exhibition, showcasing 44 artworks by twenty-three renowned Bangladeshi artists. The artworks were done from the year 1958 till 2017, covering a wide range of themes and media. The mediums included oil, acrylic, watercolour, brush, ink and pen, serigraph, woodcut print, gouache, lithograph, pastel and mixed media. The show highlighted the wide range of subjects like urbanisation, nature and its mysterious aspects, daily chores of varied occupations, surrounding atmospheres, folk tradition, urban and rural life. A number of artworks were concentrated on pure form, composition and architectural lines and texture. The majority of the artworks were on the themes of panoramic splendor of the bucolic areas, political, social and economic context of Bangladesh. Some painters’ works focused on personal observation, feelings and sensibilities, greenery, bucolic life, the Liberation War, political turmoil, religious bigotry and natural catastrophe of the country.
